My First Shot at Blogging

January 16, 2012

I’ve given it a lot of thought and decided to try my hand at blogging.  This blog will focus on offering words of encouragement to weary Christians.

I look to Deuteronomy 20:2-4 as my job description:

And it shall be, when ye are come nigh the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak          unto the people, and shall say unto them “Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day to battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified of them, for the Lord your God is He that goeth with you, to fight against your enemies, to save you.” (KJV)

As a minister I try to stay alert and attuned to what’s happening in the lives of people, and encourage them in the day of trouble.  So often we are overwhelmed by the problems of the world, the attacks of the enemy and the pressures and stress which accompany life.  At times it’s overwhelming.  This is where the priest comes in.  His job was to encourage the warrior on his way to fight.  He was to remind the soldier that God would provide the victory.  It’s my earnest prayer that something you read on here will lift your spirit, build your faith and encourage you to walk on with the Lord.

  1. You are right some time a word of encouragement is what is needed. Sometimes it’s just knowing we all just need a little help, and take a leap of faith to ask for it.
